The artist, Les Seamster, was born in Kansas and lived in various states while growing up. Then in 1975, Les moved to Texas where he met and married his wife, Shronda. Les made his home In Allison, a small community in northwest Texas, where he found work in the booming oil fields.
In the late 1970's, thieves were common, stealing anything that could be resold. Les began engraving names on hardhats and equipment to make them less attractive to the thieves. His fellow workers liked the unique style of engraving and started paying Les for custom artwork, wildlife and oilfield related scenes engraved onto the hardhats. Then Les began engraving on sheets of enameled brass, and by 1984 turned a side-line business into a full time career.
Les credits the change in his career to Ecclesiastes 9:10 which is inscribed into each piece of artwork. This Bible verse reads:
Having no formal art training, and accepting
JESUS CHRIST as his Savior, Les
knew that God had given him his talent. From the Texas oilfields to the heart
of the Missouri Ozarks, Les and Shronda now own and operate a beautiful
Art Gallery in one of the most visited areas of our country today, Branson,
Missouri. God has opened new doors for Les in other mediums,
such as color prisma pencil, oils, and watercolor. These are very exciting times
for Les and Shronda, giving them the opportunity to encourage and uplift others
who are struggling in their lives.
Les's mission statement is: We are striving each day to
point people to God through His creation, His peace and His inspiration, but
most of all His Son JESUS CHRIST. If you lack direction
in your life, remember to always put God first and He will direct your pathways.
